Why a self-publishing blog?

Years ago, I worked for a large Canadian book printer and I would call on book publishers of all kinds. Occasionally, an author would call and ask me about printing their book. Early on, I realized that many of the writers didn’t know how the book industry worked; often they had books that they paid too much to produce and couldn’t sell. I helped them whenever I could but eventually I moved, changed jobs and had a few kids. My husband is a book publisher and now that I am back to work and helping out at his office, I have started thinking about self-publishers again. I have set up the blog, and I plan to post as much relevant information as I can find. I hope it will help some publishers out there.
